Fully automated Sydney warehouse
Opus delivered the design, documentation and construction of a new automated warehouse building for Synnex Australia.
Opus provided structural engineering services for the design, documentation and construction of Synnex Australia’s new fully automated high-bay warehouse building at Lidcombe in Sydney’s western suburbs.
The client placed critical importance on providing a state of the art automated facility with this warehouse complex being the first of its kind in Australia.
The high-bay portal frame building, 30 metres wide and 100 metres long, was designed to accommodate a clear racking height in excess of 24 metres. Over 570 tonnes of structural steel was used in the construction of the 3000m² high-bay warehouse.
The floor was designed for racking loads equivalent to a uniformly distributed load of 29 kPa with stringent deflection criteria, while the reinforced concrete floors of the remainder of the expansive two-storey warehouse complex were designed for a superimposed live load of 12 kPa.
The $34m project was documented entirely in Revit.
